No other time of year is as important for small businesses as the winter holiday season.\u00a0<\/span>With COVID-19 impacting the way we gather and shop this holiday season,\u00a0<\/span>GooseChase<\/span>\u00a0offers a digital scavenger hunt platform that<\/span>\u00a0can\u00a0<\/span>enhance\u00a0<\/span>holiday programming or stand alone\u00a0<\/span>as a way to<\/span>\u00a0bring people together, from a safe distance\u00a0<\/span>while\u00a0<\/span>supporting<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>local businesses<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GooseChase<\/span>\u00a0hosts digital scavenger hunts which awards points to participants for completing missions, which can include photos, videos, GPS locations or text-based tasks. Anything from taking a photo in front of a favorite coffee shop or a local landmark can earn participants points, competing for prizes against neighbours in a safe, physically distant way. Participants will also receive special promotions and discounts\u00a0to\u00a0local retailers through the app.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the next year,\u00a0<\/span>b<\/span>usiness\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>mprovement\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>reas,\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>mall\u00a0<\/span>b<\/span>usiness\u00a0<\/span>e<\/span>nterprise\u00a0<\/span>c<\/span>entres,\u00a0<\/span>c<\/span>hambers of\u00a0<\/span>c<\/span>ommerce and\u00a0<\/span>m<\/span>unicipalities across Ontario will have unlimited access to the\u00a0<\/span>GooseChase<\/span>\u00a0platform<\/span>\u00a0under the Digital Main Street banner.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To help launch the province<\/span>–<\/span>wide pilot, the Town of\u00a0<\/span>Collingwood<\/span>\u00a0is introducing\u00a0<\/span>GooseChase<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Puzzle Walks<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>as part of the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>shop local campaign featuring gift cards\u00a0to\u00a0local businesses as prizes for winning participants. The\u00a0<\/span>Yonge + St Clair BIA<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>in the City of Toronto is also launching<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Windows of Glam<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Stay tuned as m<\/span>ore communities\u00a0<\/span>bring<\/span>\u00a0games online to engage their communitie<\/span>s in the coming weeks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital Main Street is a program that helps main street businesses achieve digital transformation. The program is built around an online learning platform, structured training programs, and our Digital Service Squad, a team of street-level team members who help main street businesses grow and manage their operations through technology. Digital Main Street was created by the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) with direct support from the City of Toronto.
