Ease of doing business is a significant factor in influencing customers to do business with you. Returns policy terms should be easy to find and understand \u2013 don\u2019t make your customers hunt for it. It\u2019s best to be clear about the conditions of a return, including definitions of acceptable timeframes, and the state the product needs to be in if returned (in original packaging, unworn, price tags intact, etc). Shoppers are looking for this information upfront: our survey found that 18% of shoppers abandoned their cart before making a purchase due to concerns over a returns policy. That\u2019s a\u00a0<em>5% increase<\/em>\u00a0from a study we completed three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>This highlights how providing a clear and transparent returns policy early in the buying process is important to completing the sale.<\/p>\n<p>Even before a first-time customer makes a purchase on your website, a concise returns policy provides the peace of mind needed to convert browsers to buyers.
