Naughty Florals is an Ajax-based online stationery company that combines classic floral designs with modern sensibilities. It was a bolt of lightning that hit Heather Brassington to become both a business owner and an artist after graduating with a degree in Fine Arts. She saw the cheeky sayings, salty language, and watercolour florals in her head and got to work. Heather started her business as an Etsy shop in 2018, but the idea of having her own website was overwhelming. Digital Main Street\u2019s ShopHERE Powered by Google Program helped Heather to navigate her feelings of overwhelm and help Naughty Florals come to life on it\u2019s own domain.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt so overwhelmed with the idea of opening my own website but working with Digital Main Street, they helped me break it down into small manageable chunks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

After the initial design was complete, Heather was able to make tweaks with the help of her eCommerce Coordinator who taught her the ropes of her Shopify store. Heather was grateful to have someone to answer all of her questions, \u201cNaziza was very helpful, patient, and friendly.\u201d Digital Main Street\u2019s free eCommerce help<\/a> made the process simple and stress-free for Heather.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Heather had an Etsy shop and was familiar with selling online, having her own online store felt overwhelming and she had no idea where to start. Now, Heather has beaming optimism for her new store. The process was \u201csmooth and stress free\u201d and she is excited to share her website with people.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Having her own website gives Heather confidence. She feels like her new website looks more professional and clean than her previous online storefront. It gives Naughty Florals its own brand identity instead of being nestled into the Etsy brand Heather was able to infuse her own branding into every aspect of the website.<\/p>\n

Heather values the maker community, being yourself, and doing your best. Starting with an effortful sketch and watercolour design, Heather feels the love that goes into creating her products by hand. She believes part of what makes life worth living is our differences, so she drops charity stickers and fundraising promotions to support LGBTQ and BIPOC communities. In addition to this, Heather wants to do the best for the environment, which is why her greeting cards are made on 100% recycled paper.\u00a0<\/p>\n
