Handcrafting Digital Presence with Jenna Archer Ceramics

Jenna Archer embarked on her business journey in 2019 when she founded Jenna Archer Ceramics in Calgary, Alberta.

Her passion for creating handcrafted ceramics was deeply rooted in a desire to transform ordinary moments and inspire people to gather those closest to them to create cherished memories. From mugs to plates and other homeware, Jenna uses bold and playful designs in her porcelain work to encourage connection with oneself and others.  

“Ceramics can hold your stories and the stories of many generations before. When I open my cupboards, I see my family, friends, mentors, and all the places I've travelled, which brings me immense joy.”

Beyond being an artisan, Jenna is also a former engineer, a devoted mother to two young children, an avid cycling enthusiast, and a seeker of adventures across diverse cultures. Her decision to shift gears from engineering to prioritize family and art marked a pivotal moment in her journey. Since that decision in 2019, her mission has been to create ceramics made to be interwoven into your everyday life that will accompany you in moments shared and solo. 

Jenna joined the Digital Economy Program (DEP) to widen her business's reach and extend her artistry and narratives to a broader audience across Canada. She was paired with a local Digital Service Squad member in Calgary, who helped her tackle critical areas of improvement, such as SEO and social media strategy.

Our squad member provided recommendations for Jenna's website to increase SEO, which included improving page headings. Using the correct heading structure and keywords makes it easier for search engines like Google to identify site content, which helps new customers connect with businesses like Jenna's. Jenna was also guided through social media strategies to engage her audience. Our team recommended creating content that focused on prompting comments and followers through specific calls to action.  

Reflecting on her experience with DEP, Jenna emphasized,

“The program has made a positive impact on my business and helped me gain additional confidence and skills in how I operate my business. Businesses can expect to receive insights on their current digital presence and ways that it can be enhanced for increased customer engagement and sales.”
