Small Business Spotlight: Siyawareva
Foster Siyawareva’s journey from Zimbabwe to Canada seven years ago shaped not only his personal story but also his design philosophy.
Rooted in timeless elegance and refined craftsmanship, his brand, Siyawareva, blends identity and artistry to create garments that embody quiet power. In 2024, Foster premiered his first collection—nine custom-made looks that captivated audiences and set the stage for what’s next.
When Foster joined the Digital Service Squad (DSS) program earlier this year, he was looking to elevate his brand presence in Canada’s competitive fashion landscape. “The help has been incredible,” he shares. “I was able to get support in building a brand guide and a website, which helped immensely in phrasing my business to buyers and influencers. When you don’t know how to present your brand, you lose potential sales and opportunities for growth.”
Through DSS, Foster learned how to articulate his brand identity online and adopt digital tools that strengthened his client connections. “I realized the market had evolved so much since I started in fashion, and my skills needed to be updated,” he explains. “The website allows me to represent my brand intentionally, inspiring connection with new clients and promoting growth.”
As Siyawareva continues to grow, Foster is focused on expansion and impact. His next collection is set to premiere in the coming months—and audiences will soon see even more of his work when he appears as one of 12 designers on the upcoming season of Project Runway Canada, airing November 14th on Crave.
