During these difficult times, almost everyone has made a conscious effort in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. One business that is dedicated to assisting you in this journey before, during, and after COVID-19 is Ginkgo Health Shop.

Located in downtown Toronto at Yonge and Bloor, Ginkgo Health Shop is a local business that has been with Frances Yi, the store’s most recent and current owner, and her family for over 25 years. With over two decades worth of experience and knowledge, Frances and her staff are committed to providing up-to-date products and information to ensure their clients lead a healthier and happier life. By offering free supplement consultations and effective health products, ranging from vitamins to traditional medicinal ingredients, Frances has played a vital role in providing relief for various health concerns. Despite being in business for over two decades, the pandemic made it difficult for Frances to serve her clients. With COVID-19 changing the way people shop, Frances recognized that she needed to get her products online as soon as she could. For this reason, Frances decided to turn to the ShopHERE Powered By Google Program to help provide her clients with the health products they need right to their doorstep.

Going into the program, Frances had no experience with website development. This lack of expertise made her hesitant to transition into the realm of eCommerce and begin selling her products online. With the help of the ShopHERE Program and her eCommerce Coordinators however, her hesitation was quickly replaced with a newfound eagerness.

“I had no idea that my helpers in the ShopHERE Program would make it so easy for me to understand how to update and operate my Shopify eCommerce store.”

All throughout her ShopHERE journey, Frances felt supported by her Coordinators. The way her site was built so quickly and professionally exceeded her expectations. According to Frances, her Coordinators were patient, kind and eager to resolve any issues she was having with her site. Not only did they provide her with website expertise and guidance, but they also taught her how to use Shopify’s platform from end-to-end, giving her the confidence she needed to manage her own eCommerce site.

Additionally, through the program’s digital marketing webinars, Frances was provided the necessary skills and resources she needed to better equip her business for the future – that is, learning how to market her store online.

Reflecting on her life before the ShopHERE Program, Frances couldn’t believe that she had no prior experience in eCommerce and digital platforms. All within a couple of weeks, Frances learned how to manage her Instagram page, edit photos, operate Shopify, and so much more. Not only did the ShopHERE Program help her build her eCommerce website, but it also helped her realize that she is much more capable in managing her site than she thought.

“With the state of the world as it is now, so many people prefer shopping online as opposed to in-store and I'm so happy that our store now has this option.”

All in all, Frances is beyond happy that she achieved her goal of selling her products online and helping her customers live healthy lives during this remote lifestyle. Her new eCommerce website has made a positive impact on her business and she’s excited to see where her new site will take her even after the pandemic. With the help of the ShopHERE Program, Frances and her business are better equipped for the future and the evolving eCommerce industry.
