For seniors in the Lindsay area, Silver Lights Senior Services feels more like family than service. “Our staff don’t just go in, give you a bath and then walk out, they spend the time getting to know the clients and building that trust and friendship with them,” says Susan Fisher, managing director of Silver Lights Senior Services. “We’re kind of like extended family for a lot of clients.”

For 80 years, family-run British Empire Fuels has reliably kept the residents and cottagers of Kawartha Lakes and Trent Lakes warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They’ve established themselves as a go-to for HVAC installation and repair,  as well as propane and fuel oil delivery. “People need you, no matter what the economy does…,” says Tim Groen, the General Manager of British Empire Fuels.  they still want to be warm and they still want to be cool.” 

Kawartha Lakes is a city in name only. Geographically, it’s the size of a county and mostly made up of a collection of lakes and rural areas and towns and communities like Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Omemee.
