Craft Artist Shares Her Passion Through An Online Business
For as long as she can remember, Connie Wong has always had a passion for arts and crafts. From a young age, her grandmother sparked her creativity by teaching her how to knit. As she got older, Connie continued her passion by creating sock plushies for friends and family. Through her efforts, she quickly learned that she had an audience of people willing to purchase her creations. Although the monetary value of a business was rewarding, Connie truly wanted to bring joy and share her passion with others. As a result, she decided to start Connii’s Craft Studio through the ShopHERE Powered by Google Program to accomplish her goal.
Based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Connii’s Craft Studio is an eCommerce store that offers handmade plushies, crochet and knitted goods, stickers, washi tape, and more. Her signature crafts are bright and animated, and are sure to bring a smile to your face! With the help of the ShopHERE Program, Connie was able to showcase her products quickly and effectively through a website that captures the essence of her crafts.
“The program helps you create an online store whether you are selling products or providing a service, and for someone that doesn't know much about coding, being able to have someone create my site for me was extremely helpful.”
From start to finish, Connie’s experience in the program was simple and straightforward. The eCommerce Coordinator she was partnered with outlined what needed to be done at each stage of the program, which allowed her website to consistently progress. Connie’s Coordinator was able to take her ideas and build the fundamental outline of her store. From there, they worked together to implement any functionality that Connie wanted.
Connie was also given the tools needed to help her operate on Shopify’s platform. Because of the program’s resources, like the 1-on-1 mentorship and three-month free Shopify trial, Connie was motivated to adopt the skills needed to maintain her site without the help of her Coordinator. By the end of the program, Connie was able to launch her store faster and cheaper than what she had anticipated.
“I am no longer just another shop on Etsy, I now have a platform that is totally mine to share with people.”
The ShopHERE Program helped Connie realize that owning her own online shop was more than just a dream. As a new entrepreneur, Connie was given the opportunity and freedom to create her own online experience – one that she would give to each person that visits her shop.
