Dirtbag Baseball Nation operates in Guelph, ON. What started as a baseball training program that educates and empowers players, parents, and coaches, has developed into a business with many facets. Dirtbag Baseball Nation sells apparel and training aids, operates a podcast called Baseball Evolution, a YouTube channel called PWDDirtbags, has a blog, and provides training to players, parents and coaches. The baseball lovers out there know “dirtbag” doesn’t mean what the rest of us think it does. In baseball, being called a dirtbag is a major compliment. Dirtbag Nation owner, Kirk McNabb, describes a dirtbag as an extremely loyal player who will do anything to help the team succeed. To Kirk, “dirtbag” works as an acronym:

D – You are 100% DEDICATED to always being the best

I – You INVEST daily in becoming better in all areas of baseball, softball and life

R – You RESPECT each teammate, coach, umpire, and facet of the game

T – You are TOTALLY committed to your team

B – Being a dirtbag is your BRAND, lifestyle and mindset

A – Your ATTITUDE is infectious to everyone who plays with you, against you and watches you

G – You expect GREATNESS from yourself lead with that type of mindset

Dirtbag Baseball Nation was created to give aspiring athletes the training and coaching they need to succeed their goals. Kirk has played baseball his whole life, with his career taking him to the United States and France. He knows the hard work it takes to coach  young athletes in order  to succeed in this industry. Growing up as an athlete, Kirk acknowledges that baseball and softball can be stressful and confusing. He recognized the kind of coaching that dominated the training industry, and knew that he could be different. Dirtbag Baseball Nation knows that the best results come from telling these young athletes what they need to hear, instead of what they want to hear. As Kirk says:

“If you really want to become the best version of yourself, then we can help you learn how to Get Up, Get After It, and Get Dirty, every single day!”.

This is the backbone of the Dirtbag Nation culture of respect, accountability, perseverance and empowerment. When COVID-19 hit, Kirk knew that developing an online presence would be important for the success of Dirtbag Baseball Nation. At the beginning of the ShopHERE Powered By Google Program, Kirk had no experience with building and developing a Shopify store.

“This program is a must for so many people.”

He credits ShopHERE for allowing him to have a full opportunity to start selling his vision and reach a larger audience online. The new Dirtbag Baseball Nation online stores gives customers access to branded apparel, baseball equipment, and the option to book a free appointment to discuss the training program.
