Angel Potter is the owner of Edmonton-based signage and printing company Nexgen. As an industry leader that’s been around for over 30 years, Nexgen is used to working with all types of customers, whether they are local or global, large or small. The foundation of the company lies in exceptional quality in both materials and customer service.

“Our commitment to quality, competitive pricing, and quick turnaround guarantees our success and [customer] satisfaction.”

Nexgen is constantly investing in technology and research to stay ahead of the curve. Their goal is to have a ‘pay it forward' attitude. Their work ethic, attention to detail, a committed team and loyal clients shapes who they are.

Angel Potter developed Nexgen Signs and Printing with the idea to carry forward her family history. The name Nexgen means ‘Next Generation.'

Bringing Nexgen Signs and Printing online was a struggle for Angel, as she was finding it difficult to find the time and know-how to get started on her Shopify store. She signed up for the ShopHERE powered by Google program to get assistance with this project.

“Digital Main Street was exactly what I needed to get me started and help me reach my goal of building my site.”

Angel was paired with an eCommerce Coordinator to help her build the store and teach her how to manage it on her own. She was surprised to find out there was a program to help business owners like herself and she feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with the ShopHERE program.

“I am beyond happy with the site, I have a vision of what I wanted and the final product matched my vision perfectly.”

Angel found the process easy after receiving support from her eCommerce Coordinator and feels confident that she will be able to grow her business and online presence.

Being a small business owner, Angel wears many hats, works long hours, and finds herself jumping from one task to the other.

“Having the help to have my site built so quickly and efficiently was exactly what I needed to build the confidence I need to make an online presence.”

Angel’s next step is marketing. ShopHERE offers marketing training with tons of resources to learn more. Angel is beginning her journey to learn marketing right away so that she will have a better understanding of how to get the most out of her new online store.

Angel’s advice for business owners is to look at their business model and develop a plan that will make the most impact for reaching customers.

“When I decided to build my site it was not just for the purpose of increased sales, it was to make it easy for customers to find what they need, basically providing them all the information they require in one place.”

She says not to overthink it and get started, all you need to do is come in with a vision.
