To stay competitive and expand their business, with the vision of being just a click away, the team at GT Enterprise decided it was time to strengthen their online presence. That’s when they turned to the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) , where they found invaluable guidance and resources to help them confidently navigate their business’s digital transformation.

When Garry Thompson founded GT Enterprises over three decades ago, he had a clear mission: to offer top-quality feed and expert guidance to support the health and well-being of horses and livestock. Since then, the company, based in Kemptville, Ontario, has grown into a trusted leader in equine nutrition, proudly serving the community as a Brooks equine nutrition dealer for 30 years.

Garry’s passion for the feed industry began at the age of 17 when he started working at New Life Feed in Inkerman, gaining valuable experience that would shape his future. Garry’s dedication and hard work, alongside his brother Barry and their supportive spouses, GT Enterprises has flourished, blending decades of expertise with a strong commitment to supporting livestock owners and equestrians alike.

As the business grew over the past 30+ years, so did its goals. The team at GT Enterprises began exploring the idea of establishing an online presence to help the business advance by leaps and bounds. The team realized they needed a way to keep up with the fast-evolving digital landscape and reach more customers in need of their products and services. “Our goal was to modernize our business into our local community.”

To stay competitive and expand their business, with the vision of being just a click away, the team at GT Enterprises decided it was time to strengthen their online presence. That’s when they turned to the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) , where they found invaluable guidance and resources to help them confidently navigate their business’s digital transformation. Through CDAP, GT Enterprises received the unique opportunity to access personalized e-Commerce advisory support and received a $2,400 microgrant to help cover the costs of implementing the necessary e-commerce technologies.

After learning about the capabilities of e-commerce tools, the team at GT Enterprises took the challenge head-on. With the help of the CDAP grant, the business launched a new, e-commerce-enabled website. The site features a wide selection of locally sourced, high-quality feeds and agricultural products, including their own line of clean, dust-free products tailored to support animal health and well-being.

“Being a farm-based business, our in-shop hours were limited. The e-commerce platform allows our store to be open 24/7!”

With the goal of becoming a well-known business across the region, GT Enterprises now proudly showcases its online store, made possible by the CDAP grant. As a small business, it marks a significant step forward, enabling the company to extend its reach and continue providing top-tier nutrition products to even more customers.

This digital transformation has brought their products closer to the community, marking the beginning of a new era for the business, combining decades of expertise with the convenience of modern technology.

Connect with them on GT Enterprises on Facebook, and visit their website to learn more about their products and services.
