As Canadians become increasingly aware of the environmental impact of single-use plastics, Friendly.eco has taken a proactive stance in providing high-quality, sustainable alternatives to these products for both personal and business use. Devin Patel’s Friendly.eco is a small business based in Unionville, Ontario that specializes in eco-friendly wooden utensils and kitchenware products.

To achieve their goals, Patel joined the ShopHERE powered by Google program, which helps small Ontario businesses get online and enhance their digital presence. With the guidance and support provided by the program, Patel was able to take their online store to the next level and achieve significant growth in their e-commerce business.

The ShopHERE program provided Friendly.eco with invaluable resources to revamp their website and optimize their online store. With the help of the program, Patel was able to improve their website design and functionality, making it more user-friendly and accessible for customers. This included improving the navigation and layout of the website and enhancing the checkout process. Patel shares that the support offered by the program was pivotal in entering their business into the digital world.

“The program is amazing for the entrepreneurs like us. It expedites the process of launching the business and provides guidance for entering into the digital business world.”

In addition to improving their website, the ShopHERE program helped Patel grow their e-commerce business. The program provided guidance on how to expand their online presence, reach a wider audience, and optimize their digital marketing efforts. With the program's support, Patel was able to implement effective digital marketing strategies, such as email marketing campaigns, social media advertising, and search engine optimization (SEO), which helped increase their visibility and attract more customers to their online store.

Reflecting on their experience in the program, Patel expressed their appreciation for the support and guidance provided by the ShopHERE program. Overall, Patel was impressed by the high level of professionalism demonstrated by their e-Commerce Coordinator. Patel shared that his e-Commerce Coordinator helped ensure that his business’s needs were met on schedule and was available to answer questions promptly which led to an easy and smooth website launch.

“[Our] E-commerce Coordinator worked closely with us to understand our needs and vision for the project, and kept us involved throughout the process, and completed the project within the agreed-upon timeframe.”

Thanks to the ShopHERE powered by Google program, Friendly.Eco was able to improve their website, grow their e-Commerce business, and make their eco-friendly products more accessible to their customers. Patel recommends this program for any small businesses that are looking to expedite their online business launch or if they need any guidance for entering the digital business world.

“The end result met or exceeded our expectations in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and overall user experience. The store was built and launched within the expected timeframe, which can help us meet our goals and get our products in front of customers more quickly.”
