Hooman Tootoonchian, co-founder of the prestigious online music academy Rhythmitica, which was established in Toronto in 2015, leveraged the Canadian Digital Adoption Program to create a new digital presence that is more user-friendly, secure, and efficient.

Hooman Tootoonchian is an entrepreneur and musician dedicated to connecting diverse cultures through music. In 2009, they embarked on a new journey into music education, focusing on teaching children. Embracing the Orff method with enthusiasm, Hooman refined their techniques and set out to inspire young learners and spark their creativity. Fueled by a passion for music and education, Hooman co-founded the renowned online music academy Rhythmitica Online Music Academy in Canada in 2015.

Rhythmitica offers live, global music lessons with a mission to make music education accessible to all, regardless of location. It provides personalized instruction from professional musicians and features a diverse range of courses, including world music instruments and traditional vocal training. The platform supports a wide audience, from children to seniors, with interactive tutorials, music books, and high-quality video conferencing. Rhythmitica distinguishes itself through its commitment to interactive learning, offering immediate feedback and real-time engagement to foster growth and confidence in a supportive environment.

Recognizing the need for a stronger digital presence, Hooman decided it was time to enhance the user experience of their original website with a new e-commerce strategy. To achieve this, they turned to the Canadian Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) for assistance. In today’s digital age, a robust online presence is crucial for business success, but navigating the complexities of the digital world can be daunting. CDAP is here to help small businesses like Rhythmitica overcome these challenges and leverage e-commerce opportunities. Through the program, businesses connect with a dedicated E-Commerce Advisor who provides support with e-commerce solutions, digital training, and access to a $2,400 microgrant.

With the help of their dedicated E-Commerce advisor, Hooman pinpointed the digital improvements needed for their business. The main goals were to enhance their user-friendliness, security, and efficiency.

With support from the program, they were able to incorporate a stronger payment gateways, enhanced security features, and an improved booking system. This makes it easier for students to schedule lessons and make payments efficiently and securely. These upgrades improved user experience and fostered trust and confidence among students, leading to higher engagement and retention rates. The $2,400 microgrant enabled the e-commerce improvements, and provided support for targeted digital marketing campaigns, boosting visibility, attracting a larger audience, and increasing website traffic. Consequently, Rhythmitica has experienced a rise in new student enrollments and an expanded reach for its courses.

Reflecting on the program experience, Hooman shared:

“Our experience with the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) has been incredibly positive and transformative for Rhythmitica Online Music Academy. The program has provided us with the necessary resources and support to enhance our digital capabilities, streamline our operations, and expand our reach in the competitive online music education market.”

Thanks to the CDAP program, Hooman was able to take the next step in the digital world and capture more private and group lessons than ever before. Hooman shared advice for small businesses that are interested in the program:
