Bimz Hair’s Journey: Restoring Confidence, One Wig at a Time
Adebimpe Obodozie, the founder of Bimz Hair, knows that the right hairstyle can make a big difference in one’s confidence and self-esteem.
Having gone on her own hair journey, Adebimpe realized the opportunity to help people struggling with hair loss due to alopecia, chemotherapy, and other health-related issues so in 2011 in Nigeria, she founded Bimz Hair. Their mission is to provide high-quality wigs that cater to a wide and diverse range of tastes, needs, and help customers find their style and feel beautiful.
In 2021, Adebimpe made the life-changing decision to emigrate to Canada. Along with the challenges of being in a whole new country, she also faced the task of re-establishing her business in a new and different market. The transition was not easy but thanks to the support provided by the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), Adebimpe was able to make significant progress in establishing Bimz Hair’s digital presence in Canada. The CDAP program which provided personalized e-commerce advisory support also gave business owners access to a $2400 microgrant to assist with the costs of implementing e-commerce digital technologies.
Adebimpe’s dedicated e-commerce advisor guided her on developing marketing strategies, understanding social media, and cybersecurity best practices and improving her e-commerce website. With the grant, she focused on improving her SEO and creating strong digital ads to increase traffic to her new website. These efforts translated to consistent and steady social media growth, engagement, and online traffic, which directly increased appointments and sales.
“The CDAP program was very enlightening as it provided me with the much-needed training and support to set up my e-commerce website. It also helped me to secure transactions on the website”, shared Adebimpe.
Adebimpe further shared that her online sales have doubled since participating in the program. The CDAP program not only strengthened Bimz Hair’s digital footprint but also helped Adebimpe connect with a new marketing, setting the brand up for long-term success.
Adebimpe is grateful for the trust and confidence her customers place in her and her products. She looks forward to continuing her mission to help people feel confident. As she would say “putting smiles back on the faces of clients” is what keeps her going.
The future of Bimz Hair looks successful and bright. What started as a small project has now become an international brand, making a difference in the lives of people throughout Canada and other countries in the world such; as the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria. Adebimpe plans on expanding her line of products to cater to a diverse market looking for natural-looking, comfortable, and high-quality hair products.
