Olayemi Zainab Olabode is the proud owner of Makeupbyspells, a permanent makeup studio in Mississauga, Ontario. Olabode’s participation in the CDAP program enabled her to establish a polished and user-friendly e-commerce website for their business. Olabode notes that this change has significantly bolstered customer confidence and trust in her services.

With Makeupbyspells achieving perfect eyebrows has never been more permanent!

Nestled in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, is Makeupbyspells, a permanent makeup studio best known for its ‘Ombré Powder Brows’ procedure. The owner, Olayemi Zainab Olabode, is a talented permanent makeup artist who finds joy in making women look and feel their best. She tailors each of her services to meet customer needs and satisfaction. With a keen eye for detail and the hands of a perfectionist, Zainab also specializes in revitalizing eyelashes, eyeliners, and lips with the latest technology in the industry.  As Zainab says, her business is where artistry meets beauty.

Like any other business owner in today’s digital-first landscape, Zainab recognized the need to improve her business’s online presence and digitize her business's operations. She turned to the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) to gain the right support and guidance in navigating the world of e-commerce.

The CDAP program supports small businesses in adopting e-commerce capabilities and increasing their digital presence. Upon eligibility and acceptance to the program, businesses can access a micro-grant of up to $2,400. Each eligible business works with a dedicated e-commerce advisor to collaborate on a digital transformation plan tailored to their unique needs and goals.

Zainab utilized her micro-grant and the assistance of her E-Commerce advisor to create her studio’s official website, integrating both online sales and a booking system into her business operations. Reflecting on these new website functions, she remarked:

“Such an advancement will not only enhance our capacity to streamline online sales but also optimize our ability to secure bookings efficiently and effectively.”

In Zainab’s case, the program involved learning about e-commerce platform solutions and their respective features and benefits. After identifying the most suitable e-commerce platform for her business’s needs, she collaborated with her e-commerce advisor to construct a customized website. This website was built to allow her customers to access service information, review previous client results, schedule appointments, and make online payments.

“I can’t be more thankful for this opportunity. Having a professional website makes everything different and organized so customers trust you more.”

With support from her dedicated E-Commerce advisor, Zainab also received one-on-one training, resources, and tools on digital marketing plans and cybersecurity best practices.

By embracing digital transformation, Zainab can enhance her business performance in the digital marketplace. She advises business owners looking to join CDAP to trust the process and be transparent and open-minded.

If you’re like Makeupbyspells, a Canadian small business wanting to move beyond physical boundaries and establish a strong online presence -join CDAP. The goal of the CDAP program is to empower you with the right resources and support to help your business make this shift toward digital adoption.
