Charming Parrot Expands Their Digital Marketing with Get in the Loop and their local DSS

Owner Leah Moroz has been designing, curating, and styling for over 25 years, growing her business from a home-based shop to a well-known Beaches destination, catering to a wide range of clients.

Charming Parrot is a lifestyle clothing boutique and stand-alone brand born from the novel idea that fashion should complement one's purpose and poignantly portray his or her passions without restriction. Located in the Beach Village community in Toronto, their carefully curated collections showcase fashionable but comfortable clothing selections designed to carry forth a charismatic presence no matter the occasion. They primarily feature clothes created under the Charming Parrot Designs label as well as fashions imported from Italy. Before 2020, Charming Parrot did not have a robust online presence. They had a simple website with no e-commerce capabilities. Once the pandemic forced closures on nonessential stores, Moroz created a new website to ensure that sales could continue online. Though mostly self-taught, Moroz did seek help from the DMS ShopHERE powered by Google program to assist with some of the more technical elements of the site. Her local Digital Service Squad member also helped to integrate social media accounts into the website.

More recently, Charming Parrot participated in a pilot project with GetintheLoop, a hyper-local marketing platform that presents users with real-time local offers. The pilot, which was part of the Community Collaboration Project funded through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, offered businesses access to the platform’s full suite of marketing services for 3 months. Shortly after joining the program, Charming Parrot saw their first two online sales.

Moroz hopes that the online store for Charming Parrot will eventually double the business’ annual sales. Being located in the Beaches means that sales are heavily affected by seasonality and Moroz hopes that focusing on her online identity and digital platforms will help to increase sales year-round.  Shop their charming apparel collections online to dive right into an enchanting paradise where parrots roam basking beneath the warm glow of a sinking Caribbean sun.
