Colouring Outside the Lines: Soulful Colour’s Digital Makeover
Soulful Colour transformed its online presence with the support of the CDAP microgrant, creating a vibrant e-commerce platform that authentically reflects its mission of promoting self-confidence, growth, and cultural representation. This funding allowed the brand to build a functional, on-brand website, making it easier for customers to connect and access their unique affirmation colouring books. With this digital transformation, Soulful Colour is now positioned to engage a wider audience and expand its reach online.
Sophia, also known as SoJay, is the founder, author, and creator of Soulful Colour. Inspired by her passions, creative nature, and a strong desire to promote mental wellness, she founded Soulful Colour to offer unique affirmation colouring books that celebrate diversity, self-expression, and personal growth.
Sophia's journey has been shaped by resilience, overcoming personal challenges and returning to school as a mature student to graduate with honours. Despite these hurdles, Sophia’s creativity and determination helped her build Soulful Colour into a brand that empowers and uplifts individuals of all ages. Through her books, presentations, workshops, and speaking engagements Sophia connects with others, helping them embrace their uniqueness and cultivate mindfulness. Her mission is to bring warmth, positivity, and empowerment to the world, one affirmation and colouring page at a time.
Sophia decided to apply for the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) to enhance her brand’s digital presence and expand her reach to a broader audience. Recognizing the growing importance of a strong online platform, she knew that an improved website and e-commerce system would be key to elevating Soulful Colour’s impact. As a small business owner, Sophia was eager to invest in the right tools and expertise to build a more professional and accessible online space for her vibrant affirmation colouring books.
The CDAP program presented a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between her creative vision and the technical aspects needed for growth. With the financial support of the program, she could focus on finding the right digital solutions without the burden of financial strain. By strengthening her online presence, Sophia aimed to connect more effectively with her audience, reach new customers, and continue empowering individuals through her colouring books, workshops, and presentations. The CDAP program was the perfect step towards turning her digital goals into reality, allowing Soulful Colour to thrive in the ever-evolving online marketplace.
Reflecting on the program experience, Sophia shared:
“The CDAP microgrant made a big difference for my business's online growth and customer relations. It was extremely important for me to have an appealing, on-brand website with a functional e-commerce platform, and this grant allowed me to focus on finding the right skills and expertise without worrying about the financial investment.”
Thanks to the support from the CDAP program, Sophia was able to build an online e-commerce store that genuinely represents her brand, making it easier for customers to connect and explore her products. With the launch of their new website, Soulful Colour now has the right digital tools to sell online, engage with their audience, drive growth, and expand their online reach.
Sophia also received support from the Canada Digital Adoption Program’s grant team, and she found them to be incredibly helpful. She shared, “…they were very supportive throughout the entire process. He provided clear instructions and always responded quickly to my emails. It was obvious that he genuinely wanted me to succeed, and his guidance made navigating the program much easier. His support allowed me to fully take advantage of the program.”
