Owned by Igor Borysov, Ballroom Expressions Dance Studio is located in Toronto’s Mount Dennis neighbourhood. Thanks to the Canada Digital Adoption Program, they’ve enhanced their online presence and reached a wider audience of potential students.

Ballroom Expressions Dance Studio, owned by Igor Borysov, is a Toronto-based dance studio in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood. Igor started his journey as a ballroom dancer at age 10 and competed in many international competitions throughout his career. Reflecting on his journey, Igor shared, “I always wanted to have my own dance studio and share my passion for dance with other people.”

Ballroom Expressions offers classes for children and adults, teaching a wide range of dance styles, from the Vienne Waltz to Tango. Whether through group classes, private lessons, or wedding packages, they tailor customized plans to meet each student’s needs and help them reach their goals. The dance studio is committed to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive space where students can develop their dance skills. Additionally, clients can rent the studio space to host celebrations or special events.

As Ballroom Expressions aimed to expand its dance community, Igor was ready to take its online presence to the level. This led him to turn to the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP). Igor recognized that growing the community required support in optimizing their website for better search engine rankings and running social media advertising campaigns to boost brand awareness and attract more sign-ups. Igor also wanted to increase online sales of dance lesson gift cards.

“CDAP helped me get great tools that made my website more visible to potential clients plus promote the dance studio through social media platforms.”

With support from Igor’s E-Commerce Advisor and Grant Administrator, he received valuable recommendations and feedback on his digital adoption plan, ensuring the dance studio made the most of the $2,400 microgrant. Igor implemented essential website plugins for search engine optimization and ran Google Ads and Meta ads to boost brand awareness. By implementing these digital tools, their website became more search-friendly and visible to potential students – it reached a wider audience and led to increased dance class sign-ups. Completing the CDAP application process, Ballroom Expressions Dance Studio secured funding and achieved its digital transformation goals.

What’s Next for Ballroom Expressions Dance Studio?

The dance studio’s digital transformation journey does not stop here. With support from CDAP, it remains dedicated to expanding its digital presence as it strives to become Toronto’s leading ballroom dance studio, drawing even more students to join its dance community. As the dance studio continues to grow, it remains committed to its core values of community, motivation, and results. Ballroom Expressions will always strive to help students achieve their dance goals by designing programs tailored to their needs. At his core, Igor is passionate about ballroom dance and loves sharing it with others, helping to build a strong and vibrant dance community.
