How to engage new and existing customers during holiday shopping

In a Meta study, 40% of people surveyed start shopping in November and 21% in October. That means if you haven’t thought out how to engage your customers in the coming months, now’s the prime time to show your customers how much they mean to you as a small business owner.

Drive sales from your existing customers during the holidays.

Engaging with existing customers is just as important as acquiring new ones to drive repeat business.

The key is to connect with established customers where they're already spending their time. Try interacting with customers through Instagram Direct to answer questions about your services or products—or provide custom recommendations to help make purchasing decisions easier. These opportunities for one-on-one customer connection can help incentivize sales during such a busy shopping season.

Get new customers during the holiday season.

The reel to the right covers this more in-depth, but in short, there are 3 key things to keep in mind to help reach new customers and scale your business not just during the holidays but year round:

1. Make it easy for potential customers to reach you. Update your business' Facebook Page with holiday hours and contact information if you haven’t already. Pro tip: add a call-to-action button—“contact us,” for example—in Ads Manager so customers can reach out on the spot.

2. Make your content count. Find out what performs well organically with your audience—what they respond most to. Then, turn those insights into creative ads to reach a larger audience who have similar interests. Consider creating them as leads ads that click to message.

3. Simplify the shopping experience. Make it easy for shoppers to browse your products and services with collections in WhatsApp Business catalog. Collections enable customers to quickly find items and add them to their cart so they can send order requests to you in WhatsApp.
