“I am thankful that with the help of Community Futures Digital Squad members, I have a website now. Aside from having a website, I also learned how to schedule my post through the Meta business suite. I really learned a lot from the program.”

About the Business

CS Plumbing & Gasfitting is a plumbing and gas company that has been serving Slave Lake and nearby communities for over 10 years. The company was founded in June 2011 by Corey Staab and provides services including plumbing, gas, heating, boilers, drain cleaning, sales and service, and tiling. Two years ago, CS Plumbing & Gasfitting opened their sister company, CS Plumbing supply which offers a wide selection of plumbing parts. Their store carries different brand-name products, tools, plumbing solutions, HVAC/R, waterworks, and many more. In addition, they keep many essential products on hand for late-night emergency jobs to ensure that people can get the help they need when they need it most.

Key Business Challenge

Corey came to the DSS for social media and digital marketing assistance for his business. As a business owner, digital marketing had always been something that Corey had thought of, but he needed some help with how to approach it.

How did the Digital Service Squad help?

Corey started working with Sunny, our Digital Service Squad member, who trained him on various marketing tools and techniques. Corey learned how to use Canva and how to make an Instagram account. He was also taught about search engine optimization (SEO), getting a higher ranking on Google, and using Meta Business Suite to schedule social media posts effectively.

Lastly, the Digital Service Squad team created CS Plumbing’s first website and linked it to a personalized domain name, showcasing all the services CS Plumbing & Gasfitting offers.

As a result of the Digital Economy Program and the support of the DSS team, Corey’s company has been able to improve its online presence.
