Deep hues, psychedelic prints, and an overall feast for your eyes. This is what you experience when browsing through the collection of fashions and home décor on 5ive-On Design. With a refined website layout, the 5ive-On Design product catalog and prints truly stand out. And before you know it, you can start envisioning one of the statement-worthy pieces either in your home or as part of your wardrobe. I certainly felt this way, as I scrolled through the website. Eventually, I found myself on the ”About Me” page as I wanted to get to know the vision and the person behind these beautiful prints.

So, who is the owner of 5ive-On Design? Meet Patti Lefebvre. Patti has an impressive resume with over 30 years of experience in Fashion Retail, 12 years working in Art Galleries, and she studied at the Ottawa School of Art. So, it’s safe to say her environment and visual aesthetic have been shaped by her constant exposure to art and fashion. In fact, Patti says that her surface pattern designs are inspired by,

“Art and artists, past and present…I draw upon everything I’ve done in my evolving creations as a fashion merchandiser, boutique owner, gallery director, and passionate art maker.”

Patti also puts a lot of work and thoughtfulness into the back-end operation of her business. Patti uses print-on-demand and dropshipping services, which means that her vendors directly ship the products to the customer as orders are placed. This practice is not only better for the environment, but it also improves the efficiency of Patti’s business. She is not troubled with over-buying products which can lead to deadstock, and she saves time by not having to actively fulfill orders. More importantly, Patti can direct her energy into creating captivating designs. So Patti finds it definitely pays off to source from Print on Demand companies and,

“Thoughtfully curate products that best suit [5ive-On Designs] patterns.”

5ive-On Designs has only been in business since 2020, originally creating prints for masks and clothing, but Patti recognized that in order to expand her market she needed to create an eCommerce store. Having realized this, Patti enrolled in the ShopHERE powered by Google program and soon enough benefitted from having an online presence.

“The landscape of retail has changed drastically. With the predominance of online shopping, social media presence and marketing being of great importance. A strong brand identity and an effective website are essential.”

Now, her products are merchandised on the website beautifully and professionally, so that the patterns are really at the forefront. Also, whenever customers leave positive feedback for her designs, it gives Patti tremendous joy and makes her feel grateful that she participated in the ShopHERE Program. With confidence, Patti states that,

“Any business that does not yet have an online presence should and would benefit incredibly from the ShopHere program.”
