Gardening For Food is A Breeze
Garden Breeze Productions is a home based business located in the Niagara region founded by Tasha Ford, a passionate gardener and home cook. Tasha has always been inspired to plant and cook. With passions for both gardening and cooking she saw an opportunity to do what she loves and took on the adventure of owning her own business. With this realization, Tasha created an urban backyard kitchen to show off her creations and Garden Breeze Productions was formed.
Tasha’s entrepreneurial journey soon led her to the ShopHERE Powered by Google Program which helped her with the setup of an online store. Tasha is proud to say,
“having a team of people that know how to navigate the various eCommerce sites and assisted in the implementation of mine to go live was extremely helpful. My eCommerce coordinator saved me from a lot of stress to set up the platform.”
Garden Breeze Productions was formed around the creation of a tropical cottage backyard garden oasis. Which by the way is an ideal setting for hosting a rustic themed garden event. This allows Tasha to spend time soaking up nature while listening to reggae and steel pan music.
The Garden Breeze Productions website showcases many products from Jamaican homemade dishes, jerk marinades and fresh local produce baskets.
“My cooking style is mainly Jamaican dishes and at times I may do some type of fusion dish (such as ackee and saltfish pizza). I love to represent to the best of my abilities the cooking of my Jamaican and Canadian culture. As a young child growing up in Canada, I did not want to eat Jamaican “hard food” and as an adult that is what I crave and want to represent. It is just amazing how we change and adapt as we grow. I love the change and love to represent!”
Since launching her online store through ShopHERE, Tasha has received lots of valuable feedback!
Even though Tasha had to balance her full-time job and manage her time with the ShopHERE Program she was grateful for the experience because “free assistance to get you set up is worth it.”
Now with a completed custom website Tasha feels that now her hobbies and her interest can be taken seriously and everyone knows she means business. Tasha described her ShopHERE journey as ‘seamless.'
“My eCommerce coordinator knew her job. She was patient, listened and communicated well. Her response was always timely. It was quite easy setting up a profile and once approved, everything fell into place.”
