A Digital Transformation That Has Helped Empower Women of Colour and Working Moms

Amy Pacitti is the founder of Wrapped With Amore, located in Ottawa, Ontario. Wrapped With Amore was created after Amy had her daughter and found there were limited options for business maternity-style clothing. This led Amy to design and manufacture her own wrap dresses, hence the name, but she quickly pivoted to an image consultant and style coach. Wrapped With Amore also provides services that focus on personal development, 1:1 group coaching, training, and workshops.

“I work with corporations to help them create strategies to support their female executives who are returning to work from maternity leave and support women of color in their workplace. I help both communicate their worth by leveraging the power of color, fit and understanding the psychology behind Fashion because Fashion drives perception and teach them how to use one’s wardrobe to stand out to create new opportunities”

Amy really is the woman who does it all, not only is she an image consultant and style coach, but she is also an author. Amy has written an e-book called “Motherhood to Postpartum and Beyond: A Guide to Healing Women of Colour”, available on Amazon. She has also partnered with an online breastfeeding magazine in the United Kingdom called “Boobingit”. Through this partnership, Amy hosts a limited series on Instagram live to help women develop confidence with their new bodies and their journey through motherhood and postpartum.

If that wasn’t enough, Amy was also provided with the opportunity to be one of 15 speakers in the AWE: All Women Empowering Conference 2022 hosted by Dress for Success Ottawa sponsored by TD Bank, where she spoke to women who are marginalized. Amy supports women of colour and mothers who work in corporate offices to feel empowered by shedding light on topics like depression, anxiety, and postpartum.

When trying to get her business online, Amy faced several roadblocks' financially and mentally but with the help of Digital Main Street’s ShopHERE powered by Google program, Amy was able to create a new website and gain the confidence she needed.

“It allowed me to get visible online and create a beautiful website to display my services, my blog and my book. I came to the program after being discouraged by other service providers and came away feeling accomplished with something to show all my hard efforts”

Amy loved her time in the ShopHERE program and believes it is needed to help people transform their brick-and-mortar stores into the digital world. Through the program, Amy worked with an eCommerce Coordinator who she described as patient and caring about her business and goals. The ShopHERE program has allowed Amy to feel confident, accomplished, and proud of all her work and efforts.

“It gave me confidence and more credibility when I’m reaching out to potential partners or for clients to know that I’m legit”

Amy’s goal is to empower working moms and women of colour to feel confident and to break down stereotypes and barriers which hold back mothers and women of colour.
